Need to hone your skills and confidence in Commedia dell'Arte, Improvisation, Comic Acting, Devising and Characterisation? Want to know how to effectively engage your students in a centuries old craft? Forget what you think you knew about Commedia dell'Arte and join Corinna in a PD like no other! Auckland PD: Thursday 21st JanVenue: Drama room, ACG Parnell College, 2 Titoki St, Auckland
Fun, engaging, interactive, and based on recent PhD practice-led research, plus over 10 years as a performer, teacher and director of Commedia dell'Arte!
The PD will run for 3.5 hours. In that time, the aim is to cover all of the Commedia dell'Arte archetypes (postures, walks, interactions), offer lazzi for participants to practise, plus some basic slapstick and stage combat (time permitting). The PD will focus on ways to introduce students to the form, and how to make the form relevant to a contemporary context. Each participant will receive a certificate of attendance and teaching notes.
"Loved attending Corinna Di Niro's Commedia PD - a wonderful amount of well researched knowledge packaged in great, creative, fun practical exercises which can be used to compliment schemes of work at school or as part of a commedia devising process. I learnt a lot and had such fun doing it!"
